there was a girl
the picture of perfection
with the biggest blue eyes
smilin' her pain
to herself
but on the inside
the tears were overflowing
shattered by torment
that no one knew
there's more to her
than anybody could see
but who really cares
when you're beautiful
and who wants to listen
when on the inside you're not
though in one night
I saw all that she was
and all that she could be
but to her though
I was no one
so she cried to me
she welcomed me
to her nightmare
and we drifted away
in a sea of lost angels
where our souls collided
but fear ripped us apart
and she quickly forgot
that she had time to spare
and she quickly remembered
that I was no one
and she didn't have the time to see me
as I saw her
urgently she got up
she quickly wiped her own tears
and off she went
she was gone
without a goodbye
without a noticable care
without a single look back
and again I was alone
drifting away
by myself
though I hope for her
she's better off
than when she came my way
because she took more of me
than she'll ever know
