About Me

Of the 25years I have been on this earth (oh my GOSH am I actually a quarter of a century?? *Okay Gandhi *deep breaths*), I have recently realized that it's NOT about me! It sounds kinda strange but it is so true! It's not about YOU! I have been searching for what makes ME happy and what I want to be in life, when in reality, this life is about glorifying God and following the path that He has planned for you. His purpose for you is greater than your own happiness- what? My own happiness?! YES! But ultimately, if you follow his will, happiness cannot be avoided :D (I recommend the Purpose Driven Life to everyone!) Everyone in this world wants happiness and true love, and Jesus Christ is the answer! My ultimate challenge is TRULY trusting in Him- that once I believe, anything I ask for in prayer, I shall receive it! He will provide not in my time, but in His perfect timing. I think that's tough- not to worry and stress out in the time between asking and receiving. It's funny how we put our trust in man who will continually fail us, and we are so reluctant to FULLY trust Him. Just tap into His promises- they're all in the word. That's where I am at now, trying to live righteous and find my true purpose as it relates to God. Jesus Christ is a synonym for perfection; therefore, as a human (the antonym for perfection), I am already at a disadvantage, but aiming to be more like Him is my life's goal!

I LOVE children- I don't see how people could want to hurt them- they love freely and purely and some sick people with no regard for innocence or God's little miracles take advantage of that ~Venture into the mind of a broken child; there is nothing there but shattered glass~ a maxim. Writing and spending time with them is therapeutic :)

Music-wow! Lol I believe knowledge is power and I take it in from every source that makes it available! I am down to earth/chill, and real and I form friendships with those of like character; I have very few friends but I have been described time and time again as friendly and a socialite! I like to keep a tight circle because everyone who befriends you isn't your friend. My close friends, I love you, especially my best friend, my personal angel, who God sent in perfect timing! *They don't know me like you do* With you I-we- have grown so much. I love you...truly and thank God for you during this "blink in eternity"; for you and everything else I "own" are only temporary loans.

At this point, I try to discard anything in my life (including relationships) that seems more negative than positive- put it in God's hands. I encourage you all to do the same and young ladies-trust in God and BE STRONG!! Don't let a man's opinion of you determine your self worth! Look to no one's opinion to be validated~ you are a GEM (don't ever think you are not "worth being loved the right way". So many of us search for love in all the wrong places. Keep your standards and morals and know that you are the King's daughters!!! You are beautiful and loved and you are NEVER too far gone! I try not to judge- only God can judge you- It's been done to me and it hurts (especially when they are so wrong and you've done nothing wrong)- After a while you learn to brush it off and laugh lol SEE! lol :)(To know me is to love me) Laughing and cracking jokes has to be one of my favorite pastimes! People will hate and be petty no matter how much good you do so live, love, learn and forgive! I'm too chill and blessed to be stressed- so whoever is reading this, first SMILE and remember to put God at the head of EVERYTHING you do and have a beautiful, blessed day and enjoy your life!!!

Be the change you want to see in the world! (Mahatma Gandhi)

I trust all is well with you and miss you already, I have tried calling the radio station to speak with the lady who is one between 2-7 but its just not the same. Hurry on back home! Just being selfish. Do well and always put God first. Take care and God bless.

I'm like 98.7% sure I wrote you a testy but anywayz.

If you happen to get the pleasure of having me and Gandhi in the same room for more than 20 mins I will bet u a million dollars that she will tell u the story of how WE hated each others guts... bunch of he say she say shit, Nassau drama yall know how dat go. But as luck would have it we ended up @ the same boarding school (GO GROVE!!!) actually Gandhi was supposed to live in the room next 2 mine but Elaine don't play. Dey was not puttin her child next to the washing machines and storage closet.... so she moved (and made Carmen cry). I really don't remember the fist time we spoke but @ some point in the year we became INSEPARABLE. This was when the great duo known as "Fernander aka Nander and Mavis" was born. We shared so many great times from sittin in the room writing poems and rhymes (memba the 40hr Famine, 50 cent aint gat nuttin on Mavis) to eatin Pizza Hut (they made a killin off of our a$$ dat year). The Canadian girls would ask us if we had chicken in The Bahamas, cuz we ordered so much wings. From T-Dot to Peterbrough, From West Ridge to Yammy-craw (lol) we did it all, and I would not have wanted it any other way. I honestly can't imagine my life without Gandhi in it, i know it sounds gay but it’s true. Gandhi is a genuine person, which makes her such a good friend to have. Her honesty is raw and uncut (it’s amazing). Everyone needs that friend who calls their ass out on all their shit, no candy coating and never scared to ask the difficult questions; Gandhi is that friend 2 me. She is an old soul wise beyond her years, and honestly one of the smartest people I know. She will accomplish great things in her life and I will be right there cheering her on….. love ya Mavis….

Ya. Well, I thought I oughta comment. You know. Since your cool(as in alright :p) and everything. A lil wack, but cool. ANyways, yeah I was bored and felt like writing.AND, I was like hmmmm. I KNOW! Since Gandhi likes that poetry n stuff, instead of writing some same old comment about you being great, and cool, I'll spice it up. :D Hope ya like.

That you could see so much from a smile,
Life journeys now seem so much more worth while.

So much from a smile
Happiness, joy and laughter.
Past pain and losses,
broken hearts and torn souls.
Emotions that are so deviated, differenciated, diverse.
So deep, they are reminiscent of the sea, the ocean.
Appearing so shallow on the top,
but in reality, it is evermore abysmal and unfathomable.
Evermore in the body that produces.
Always hidden in the canvas of the abstract.
The truth of art, to find the picture.
It takes an artist.
And I am an artist.
These eyes have hidden sight.
Seeing the deeps of browns and opulent whites.
The pigments of color that remain veiled in those irises.
Bright, equidistant, murky.
Shadowed variations of coffee hues.
Seeing the complications of life's saturations, depictions and portrayals.
The tinted image of which pixels flock.
The smaller picture.
The iridescent pixelite frame.
So much from a smile.
That only an artist could obtain.
