Cheniqua Gardiner also known, as "DEVANIA"; is a fascinating and talented performing artist whose music experiences reflect her Neo-Soul and Opera genres. She was born and raised in the Bahamas. Her musical experiences were developed at a very young age when she began singing in the New Providence District children choir and The Bahamas Baptist Heavenly Voices Ensemble. The choir received numerous honors and awards in the genre of Gospel Music. * At the age of fifteen, she joined The Bahamas National Youth Choir (a world renowned touring choir that traveled extensively through-out Europe and Asia) under the directorship of Mr. Cleophas R.E Adderley (Director of Culture) where she continued to develop into a versatile singer and performer. During her tenure with the choir, she traveled to Canada, Trinidad, Tabago and various Family Islands in the Bahamas. She has appeared as a soloist with The Bahamas National Youth Choir and University of Miami Symphony Orchestra during the Choir Fifth Anniversary presentation of the Nelson Mass in D Minor by Haydn where she has had the privilege to sing for the Governor General (the Right Honorable Sir Orville Turnquest) of the Bahamas. Devania was barely eighteen years old and, her rich voice was equivalent with that of more mature seasoned soloists. It was during this time that she was recognized by the critics in the music society to have been a child prodigy as far as her music ability was concerned. As a result, she was offered music scholarships at Florida International University, University of Miami, (Miami Fl. respectively) Morgan State University (Baltimore (Maryland), Texas Woman's University (Denton, Texas) and Saint Augustine college (Raleigh, N.C) just to name a few. * Devania has broadened her horizons and is currently recording her new album as a Neo-Soul R
