the holy book makes it clear to us that a believer shouldn't tread in the path of the unrighteous, but it also says we should go out to the rest of the world and preach the gospel;this is apparently to nonbelievers.HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE LOOKING AT THE TWO INSTANCES!!!

i believe its not a question of being right or wrong but more of what God wants for you for the rest of your life. I believe it would be a miserable lyf that you would live after marrying somone who does not believe wat u believe in and has practices that don't agree with your beliefs. Whereas you should go out and preach the gospel is for everyone, share God in love but when the one God wants you to marry comes along you will know

The Bible says that we should not b unequally yoke with unbelivers 4 what fellowship has darkness with light? Just imagine a couple gets married, have kids, one parent goes 2 church on Sunday, the other goes on Saturday. Can u imagine the confusion the poor child/children have 2 go through trying 2 find the 'right church'? And if one parent is a christian and the other is not, which path (mother's or father's) does the child/children follow? The Bible also says that parents should train up a child in the way he should go that when he is old, he will not depart from it. In concluding, God says it, I believe it and that settles it 4 me.

When God says that we shouldn´t marry anyone thats not of our creed or religion, he didn´t do so just because he was bored. I have seen many couples who start out fine but later on what was once happiness turned into desesperation.
Maybe there are a few exceptions to the rule, but it still isn´t right. When God tells us to go and preach the word to unberlievers, that doesn´t mean that u gotta marry someone to preach. And also, you don´t preach only by speaking to someone, u preach by the way you walk, the way you talk, and the way you live. If you preach something and live another, then people won´t see how wonderfull it is to have Christ as your saviour. Posted by Yvita Villalona

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3 When Jesus was leaving earth HE left us with a work to do...HE said that we have to go and preach the gospel to all the world and baptise them in the name of the FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT...HE left us here to be light thru the darkness...We have to have such a relationship with GOD that we can distinctly discern HIS voice...When JESUS was hanging with the prostitutes and theifs, etc. HE was able to distinguish a heart that needed HIM more than n e thing else...Romans 12:16 advises, “Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.” (NIV) We have to let GOD order our steps...HE does not expect us to take the counsel of the ungodly etc, and to live like the ungodly but HE expects of us to minister to them...lets follow HIS example and how HE mingled among the sinners...HE left us here as HIS hands, feet and mouth piece...and we have to do the work handed down... As far as a believer marrying an unbeliever...according to the word of GOD it is a no no...However we have to allow GOD to lead us...not our flesh...HE spoke to HIS prophet Hosea and told him to marry a prostitute...im sure as a man that was not an easy thing to do...but Hosea was obedient...we have to get into our closet with GOD, spend quality time with HIM...and love up on HIM...HE inhabits in the praises of HIS people...
there is a quote that reads...a woman's heart should be so lost in GOD that a man has to seek HIM in order to find her...... Posted by Konje Byron

Does an unbeliever mean someone who is not of the same sect?? Why is it wrong for an Adventist to marry a non-ADVENTIST...Granted there will be some difficulty but most marriages that work are full of prayer and talks with God and my husband would have to be a believer in the Trinity. As a single woman I would pray for God to send me the right man before I make assumptions as to what HE feels is right or wrong for me. I have seen instances where two BELIEVERS in CHRIST (mind you I did not define believer as only a 7th day Adventist) are married and is fruitful...the women as an Adventist and by example and not force showed her love and conviction for HER Adventist religion and her husband a God fearing man eventually became an Adventist. Before we condemn those who do not do as WE HUMANS and ADVENTISTS believe is the one and only process lets remember that ONLY GOD knows the difference between what is right or wrong for US

Hello to all! after all, what matters most, in my view, is that you be happy, whether your partner is a believer or not. the pastors say they can not be, or, that what matters is only what the Bible says. We are people and we are who make the Bible every day, with our actions, with our faults and our best. we must concentrate our energies on doing a better world, not being an accomplice to discrimination, and friend who needs help, without judging the other religions. this is what is realy important. Peace!

Bro Paulo, if we are followers of the word of GOD then we should adhere to what the bible says...so in essence what the pastor is saying about the word of GOD is true...GOD through his man servant says that we should not be with an UNBELIEVER...in my view...a unbeliever is someone who has not embraced JESUS CHRIST into their hearts as their LORD and SAVIOR and has no intentions of following and being HIS disciple....and at a practical stand point, even if the bible did not exist, would you want to be with someone who does not have the same immediate and long term goals as you did?...or who understood and would be able to support the person that you are trying to become?
Praise GOD that we are all sinners saved by HIS grace...and it is because of this fact we have no right to discriminate...because the word of GOD tells us that non of us are righteous...whoever, i believe that GOD's commands are specific....and they bible is pretty clear about how HE feels as 2 becoming one if they cannot agree...so many men fell because of them being unequally yoked...we have the wisest man that ever lived, solomon...who's wives would later lead him to worship other gods...and then their was samson, who's wife would later deceive him and cause him his physical sight and strength... when we GOD gives us instructions...and im even speaking to me...we have to abide by it...it is not an easy thing...especially when our flesh is pulling us towards the very thing that GOD may not want for us...and then we have a choice...do you choose what we want, over what GOD wants for us....when it is all said and done and we have repented, we still have to turn around and do things the way that GOD instructed...if we have a heart to truly serve HIM...so stay encouraged...I think that Prov 3:5,6 sums it up well..as well as Ps 1: 1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
