Sometime ago i was speaking to a sister in the church that was engage to be married...she opened up to me and mentioned that it is ok to have sex and to get to know your partner sexually if you are already making that committtment to marry that person...there are christian poeple who do this...does the fact that you are engaged give you the right to have sex before the actually ceremoney? what really consumate the marraige? is it the committment that both individuals are making to each other or is it sex?

My advice is to disregard these "opinions." I think it's unfortunate that they exist in the church but it's not surprising. In the end it's irrelevant. What matters is what God says and His word is plain. Remember that Mary and Joseph were engaged but had not consummated the marriage? The legal and ceremonial commitment should come first- before the sex. An engagement just does not qualify. There are always going to be people who seem to find these "loopholes" but they always conflict with the Bible. What do you think?

My husband and I were both virgins when we were married, and it was a very special experience. It is a pity that so many people have forfeited this priceless experience for casual sex before marriage.

Sex is Holy Thing and it should start after two hearts have become one by marriage not an engagement

I c only ladies commented so far. hope i wouldn't b offending anyone by makin mine. I never known of anyone askin for a half drunk bottle of soda from a shop. All the time we want whole and more so, we do open on our own. Marriage would b sweeter this way. Helps avoid stigmas.
